Engine is heating up!!!!
My engine is heating up and i got no clue y......im running the stock civic Vx rad on a h22a....would that b the reason its heating? the engine is so hot i cant put my hand on the valve cover....thats not normal right? the valve train is making noise now also
you normally can not put your hand on the valve cover when the car is at normal operating temperature without burning yourself.
That little radiator may be having a tough time. Are you sure the coolant is full? Did you bleed it correctly? whats the temp gauge doing?

A Civic VX radiator for H22a? Forgive me if I am wrong... Perhaps your radiator is a tad too small? The Civic VX has a 1.5L engine, right? The H22a is a 2.2L. The radiator probably does not have enought cooling capacity for the bigger engine. But that's just my thought.
you cant put your hands on the valve cover man. the noise your hearing may just be the rockers ajdusting, or the fuel injectors too.... just check all your fluids. change your radiator.
yeah everything is perfect....oil is full....coolent is full also.....It feels a lil 2 hot tho...the temp gauge is showing its allright....but today was the first day i went for a long ride with it when its warm out
I was thinking a delsol dual core rad would do the job...since it bolts up at the same places as my stock rad......or should i get somthing diffrent?

My buddie just built a H22 Ek and he is running a dx radiator. He has had NO problem with the car running too hot. Granted it is just starting to get out of sub-zero temps here in Upstate NY.
Your best and cheapest route is the Del Sol VTEC radiator, dual core is proven to work more than well in the Souther parts of the Country where it is warmer much more often than up here...
On the 5th gen swaps you could swap in the GSR rad that is a full front Rad.

i have had a water temp guage on my car for a while now, its normally at 180 and i have seen it as high as 220 and the stock prelude temp gauge never went over half way. the only time i saw it over half way was one time sitting in trafic with the ac on , but i didn't have the water temp guage then. I have heard of good results and good cooling with civic and del slow radiators.
the h22 in general tends to be a noisy engine due to a couple things, but i wouldent really worry about it. If it makes you feel better get a valve adjustment done. And i dont know about the radiator, i used to run a civic DX radiator on my ls/vtec and it worked fine but i dont know how it does with the h22.
when i first put the engine in it didn;t make any valve train noise at all......im not sure if its because i did head work on the eninge.....i put a crower stage 2 cam and im still running stock springs....actualy im running stock everything but the cam....could that b the prob?
