First off i have a 2000 sh. I was wondering if it was possible to remove the abs from the brake system completly, more like eliminate the abs system. Im guessing that there isnt a 5th gen that came without abs so im probablly gona be stuck making custom brake lines. If anyone has ever done this before how easy was it and what exactly did you do? My reason for removing the abs system is because i want to clean up my engine bay and not have a big ugly looking abs unit in it.
I don't personally remember anybody ever doing it, but why not be the first?
Like you said, just remove the unit and all the lines (it might be attached to the ATTS unit though, not sure) and then run custom lines to a prop vale and then out to the wheels. I would copy a 4th gen S model brake system because it was the only recent Prelude without ABS.
Though, first thing you should probably do is follow all your lines and make sure there won't be issues with ATTS or anything else like that. If not, it's relatively east to do brake lines. You can buy pre-flared lines and all kinds of fittings at O'Reillys.

Yea i figured it wouldnt be to hard to do. Im not going to have any issues with atts because i swaped the sh motor for a base motor about a month ago. Is there a computer for the abs? Im just wondering because if i remove this along with the abs unit will i get a abs light?

I know having the abs is a better advantage but i dont think it would be a problem if it wasnt there. There are plenty of cars that dont have abs and they have no problems with stoping. I want to have a clean looking engine bay and the abs takes up too much room and is too bulky.

youre absolutely correct. if youre a safe driver youll have no problem driving a car without abs. cars went decades without this technology. youre fine without it now.
my Si Civic didnt come with abs (i was actually surprised...) and i havent missed it a bit. i am "cleaning up" my prelude engine bay and decided to take this on as well. ive found this thread extremely helpful: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2103425
good luck.

It could certainly be done, but it would be expensive and brake feel would probably suck with any SS line over 12" or so...

Read what he said again, he wants to clean up the engine bay.

My bad. I thought the OP wanted to get rid of ABS for racing.

On a street car, removing ABS for the sake of a "clean" engine bay is really, really dumb in my opinion.
I don't care how safe or smart a driver you are - noone has the ability to threshold brake effectively when one side of the car has a different level of friction than the other.

no problem. i have been religiously reading that thread and getting a bunch of ideas for my brake line shave. just purchased a tubing bender and a double flare tool yesterday. i hope to get started sometime next weekend.

again though, there are a number of high performing cars in years past without abs. it is not an essential component of any braking system.

For those people saying that abs should not be removed, if you have ever lapped a car before with abs you will realize why you are completely wrong. During turns and hard breaking abs does nothing but hinder performance.

It should not be too hard and that proportioning valve should be close enough for what you want. If you go to a salvage yard you can probably grab some miscellaneous pieces of the brake plumbing to hook everything up. The front left and right rear should be on one circuit and the other two wheels on the other. I would just make sure it's plumbed right, no leaks, and do some thorough testing before you head home at rush hour. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
what i had to do was get a bracket welded to the proportioning valve oem bracket and drill holes for the bolts in it so i could bolt it in the stock location.

I plan on using an interior mounted adjustable proportioning valve on mine with custom stainless tubing and hoses.
