Distributor Compatibility
Hey Guys
Need some help
I have a 94 JDM Prelude Si (distributor has an internal ignition coil)
I also have a 96 Prelude SRV (external ignition coil) _=>so that doesnt help me
BUT
from my understanding the Accords with the F22a - or w/e the engine is because some came with the internal set up and others with an external set up.
Would -for example a 92 Accord distributor that has an internal ignition coil match well/be compatible with my JDM 94 prelude?
Would I have an outstanding issues if the parts looked correct and i wanted to replace the part with an accords distributor?
ANY and All help would be greatly appreciated!
thannks guys!

Re: Distributor Compatibility
the conversion is the bypass
you just need a distributor that fits your existing harness, the td-61u distributor for preludes is for external coil setups while the td-60u distributor is for internal coil setups

Re: Distributor Compatibility
keep in mind that the 90-91 accords use the same td-60u internal coil distributor as well so if you wanted to save money you can pull one from a 90-91 accord at the junkyard

Re: Distributor Compatibility
Thank you for this information
I looked it up and the pics do seem to match (internal Ignition)
-But the part/type Distributor shows TD31u and TD 34u as the Distributor type/ replacement part (and my JDM does show td60)
SO I'm just curious- and I imagine so -but that they would differ and not be compatible -possibly with the Main end of the distributor (teeth/camshaft side -not cap side)
Any thoughts?
Again your insight and time and help is much appreciated!
Kind regards
