Default Crazy high oil pressure.

Hey guys, Just started up my car from my super long extended turbo project... My oil pressure gauge is reading 88-90 psi... I have had a chance to let the car warm up and then see where it sets so this is cold. I put new bearings in the mains and rods and I am running pure synthetic 10w-40... The oil feed line is a regulated and thus making the hold on the fitting very small, would this help cause my pressure to raise? I know the new bearings are going to promote more oil pressure until they are broken and the oil weight is a little higher so that will also raise, should this be fine. I am glad that it is too high and not too low!
Thanks in advance

oh, forgot to add that I am running a pure 1 purolater filter

having a small fitting on a big line of course makes more pressure, I wonder if they're all like that....that 90psi...thats not at idle is it?

I would be worried about blowing seals out at that high a pressure....

did you check the clearances of the bearings?? when you put them in? pressure at idle should not be THAT high when cold. my car hits around 5 kg/cm^2 which is like 70 psi when cold.. but i also have my balance shafts oil oriface's plugged up too..

but your misconception of bearings need to be broken in is not correct. lol bearings arnt suppost to break in.. they arnt even suppose to have metal to metal contact.. there should be oil all around all the time..

i would tear that motor apart if proper bearing clearances werent double or tripled checked.

I have 80+ psi at idle on my H23 with stealthmode oil lines. Probably is because of the small fittings...

It's all temperature dependant....cold engine = high pressure, warm engine = normal pressure.

yeah, i want to know what the pressure is when the motor is fully warmed.. i guess my pressure is a bit lower.. because im only running a -3 oil line to the turbo with no restrictor.

Fully warmed, my gauge sits at 20-25 psi at idle.

yeah cool my gauge shows

2.0 - 1.5 kg/cm^2 converted to about 28 - 21 psi

90psi cold doesn't sound too crazy. How cold are we talking? The kind of oil will make a difference also. Full synthetics usually flow better when cold (compared to conventional multi-viscosity oils), and heavier weight oils will show a higher pressure compared to lighter oils. If you are still worried, you might pull the bypass valve out of the oil pump and make sure it is not stuck.

my car sits at 70 psi when cold..
when car is warmed up it sits at 50 psi.

when i accelerate to 6 k rpm it goes over 100psi, and my pump produces 10 more psi on every 1k rpm.

i dunno if this help but thats just my motor is.due built motor..

ok, yeah it does lower, and the tolerances were checked before install. I am figuring that it is the fitting with the feed line that is restricting it and raising it that high...thats not at idle, i would say that it is at 1650rpm when it first cranks up before it is warmed and then idles down. I will have a better idea once I get my muffler on it this weekend and then I will let yall know how she is looking

Just correct me if im wrong but did you say you breaking your motor in on full synthetic?

I have always heard and believed it to be a bad idea? anyone else heard this?

Also on further note, To much oil pressure can cause bearing wear and failure-i dont believe yours is to high, just wanted to add that

80 psi cold when you first start your car is totally fine. Mine (using 5w-30 non-synthetic) is like 85 at idle when I first start it--after the oil fully warms up and the coolant is around 180 F, the oil pressure sits around 25-27 psi.
