Default Cooling Issues

Well, I just got home and turned off my car; the radiator fan turns on.
Also, Im not getting hot air when I slide it all the way to the right. With or without the AC on. Im thinkin somethin is up with the heater core or the lines goin there. I dont see any leaks, and the coolant temp is normal on the guage. Any thought?

ur heater core is the highest part that the antifreeze flows thru so when your low on coolant the first sign is not having any heat. its normal for the fan to turn on after your cars off. check the level frequently and see if it continues to drop. if it does obviously u have a leak. if u dont see it leaking anywhere like from the hoses and such its probably ur head gasket. how many miles?

yea you should mix it 50 50 even if its warm out. water will dissipate the heat better through the radiator than straight antifreeze will.

don't do 50/50. unless it can get down to freezing. a mixture of about 60/40, the 60% being de-mineralized water (dont use tap water) and 40% coolant will be fine. Here in Az, I use 80/20 Water, in my 7 and in the Honda

You shouldnt have to top off your coolant ever, if its taking that much then you either have a leak or your radiator is bad. This happened to me about a month ago and i had two leaks.

Well, first of all, did you buy coolant from the honda dealership? If so, you do not need to worry about mixing in water. The coolant from the dealership is already mixed and should say on the gallon whether you need to add water or not. Just take a look at the labels, it should tell you.

If you think you are lossing coolant and no hot air. Well did you check your cooling system. just pressure test it for leaks and check you heater valve. if you don't know where it is, shoul be on the back firewall close the heater core out let. have some move the cool and warm and like for cable movement. if ok, when the car is hot just feel each end at a time. you should feel hot and hot to get hot air, if you feel hot and cool. your heater core is pluged.
