I took a compression test on my friends lude with 130k on it. The results seem almost too good to be true.
225/221/212/220
The car has been maintained well but that seems a bit high for a motor with milage over 100k. What do you guys think ?
The the motor internally is stock.

A high mileage engine builds up stuff inside like sludge and if the motor is in good shape (no leaking etc) then the compression is usually quite good cause the sludge ups the compression. Atleast thats why I think it is.

Yea thats wut i was thinking. But after seafoam and engine flush and stuff i figured we would have weakend the seals alittle and cleaned up some of that sludge.

It was a cheapy compression tester but I figured it should be around the right number. Also im right outside of philly so our altitude is not high at all.

how many cranks and how many times did you pull?
was the battery on charge?

My 94' Prelude VTEC has 169,000 miles on it. When I did my compression test with a Craftsman compression tester gauge I got 210/208/205/209.
I can't believe it myself lol...I must have some carbon build up in there but I'm really not sure how I got such high numbers for such an old motor. Unless the engine was swapped out with another USDM one which I doubt.

8 cranks and the battery was fully charged

numbers on the compression test gauge isnt really what matters, bc gauges will vary from gauge to gauge.. along with altitude/location.. what you want to look for is comparision numbers across the board.. they are all very similar to each other.. so your good to go!
I did one with my cheapy and it was 210/210/210/210. The one in auto shop at my college read 230/230/230/230. Yes I'm just bragging. But yeas 4 cranks and remember to pull the ECU fuses to disengage the fuel pump.
