Default Compression problem.

Hey guys I drive a 2000 honda prelude I previously made a thread about buring four quarts of oil in 1000 miles. I decided to go ahead and do a compression test to try and figure out what my problem could be. I am no mechanic by any means but the first cylinder had a compression of 175 and my 2nd and 3rd cylinders had absolutely no compression and my 4th cylinder was fine. I really don't know how my engine is still running at this point. The only thing I can think of thats causing this is the piston rings. I was wondering if you guys could give me any sort of help of what my problem could be before I shell out the money for a new motor. It does have some oil in the exhaust when I first start it up and a little bit of white smoke flows out of the exhaust at idle sometimes but sometimes it doesn't I don't notice a ton of smoke coming out of my exhaust but the other day my friend was driving behind me and he had to stay back due to how bad the oil smell was. any help to shed some light will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Either you have some bad rings, or some valve/ valve seal damage.

Being that your outer cylinders are ok, and inner are both dead holes, makes me think valves were bent, did the timing belt ever have an issue in this car?

Best course of action would be to have a leakdown test done, which will tell you if the compression is being lost through the rings or the valves, and go from there.

Your options will be to either rebuild the engine you have now, or drop in a replacement engine. In terms of ease and speed, the new engine is fast and easy compared to the rebuild, but depends on how much work you can do, as opposed to having to pay for labor.

Compression should be about 265 I think... no matter
What way you go the motor needs to come out. Unless
It is bent valves and you could just replace the head.
I see used heads complete for 200-400$ all the time
A OEM headgasket and some know how is all you would
Need.

White smoke indicates coolant in your cylinders. Check to see if you have coolant in your oil. You may get lucky and just have a bad head gasket.

oh and for the timing belt I'm not 100 percent sure I recently got this car about a month and a half ago and he did have the receipts for a new timing belt change.

Nope, for a usdm H22 175 is about right. My stock jdm H22 makes 190s on my tester, and my H23 makes around 230, so 265 would be like 12.4:1 compression.
