CEL code 36?
My dad just bought a 96 prelude i think, has automatic h22a. gear selector works fine in every gear except for reverse. Also a plug on the tranny has the ORG/BLU WHT/BLU ripped out from the plug. Would anyone know if there is even a code 36 and also wat plug is that goin to? and would that plug be the reason why its not operating in reverse?
It is not a 96 if it has h22a with auto tranny. It could be swapped but I doubt it.
There is no code 36. Find a helms manual online and find out what the plug is. superhonda has one in the prelude FAQ
good luck

Could be a jdm h22 with jdm auto trans swap, according to my Fsm there is no code 36, but there are codes 30,31 30 is A/T Fi signal A and 31 is signal B, Probable cause for these is problem in A/t control unit and/or ecu circuit. Your ripped out wires are causing these codes so redo the cel flash, maybe you mis-counted it.
As for the wires
ORG/BLU and the WHT/BLU wires are for the mainshaft speed sensor. Thats probably why it wont shift into reverse. If there is enough wire to resolder it do that and if not then go to a junk yard and get yourself a new plug off of an auto accord tranny or somethen. Good luck.
