Default breather filters

r these things ok to use? i mean im sure they cant do too much harm but would not having the vacuum line hooked up to the intake do any harm? im a lil confused with this

you're supposed to block off that vacuum line to the intake. just plug it up with something.

so wuts the point of the breathers than? im asking bc my stock intake broke so until my ebay intake gets here im just gonna throw a cone filter right onto the throttle body. but i dont know wut to do with that one line. my friend told me to just put on a breather but i wanted to double check with u guys so i dont screw anythin up

yea, just put a breather on the valve cover, until you can get the other intake,.. itll be fine..

ok thanks man...i did search but every1 was giving contradicting answers. good for boost, bad for na...na should use a catchcan. n other ones woulda say its no big deal just make sure to change the filter every now n then bc it will clog

People seem to all put a breather on the back left hand corner of the valve cover. I had always assumed that air entered on that side from the intake, and then exited into the intake manifold (or is it directly behind the TB?) via the PCV valve.
Do I have this backwards?

a catchcan goes where the PCV valve is ... the breather just takes place of the line where the the valve cover runs to the intake tube. not the intake manifold.. the breather vents the valve cover, and the PCV valve vents the crankcase.. so a catchcan is for the crankcase, or PCV, and a breather is for the valve cover.
