Default Boosting With Mahle

Since the ringland r week on a prelude what if u buy them mahle pistons where u dont have t sleeve but they still forge how muhc boost can that block hold then?

As far as i know the mahle pistons havnt proven themselves to hold up for an extended period of time. If you want a reliable setup sleeve the block and do it the right way, IMO the mahle's are just asking for trouble.

I've been curious about these as well. I have a boosted h22 and don't ever plan on running more than 7 or 8 lbs. (about 5 lbs. right now). I would think the stock sleeves would work fine for lower boost levels with some decent pistons that won't break ringlands.

Has anyone actually tried these? I know they had some quality control issues for the h22 pistons in the past, but I would assume they've fixed that by now.

Some people seem to be able to get away with that for a while, but it seems like most boosted h22 ringlands will eventually break regardless of the tune, the stock pistons suck..

I wouldn't personally run 10 lbs. unless you want an excuse to rebuild down the road after it pops.
