I got pulled over today for having my blinker set at a speed almost at strobe. I know that my blinker is a little fast, but he said that it has to be slower than a certain amount of blinks per second. First of all, does anyone know the blinker speed for California? And second, does anyone know the speed of a stock prelude, because I swear everyone that I see has a quick blinker. And third, how do I change the speed on my blinker. Thanks

 

Does only one signal blink excessively fast? I've had that problem before on other vehicles and it was a signal that my bulb needed to be replaced, I replaced it, and the problem stopped. Just a thought.

 

Ya, it usually happens when one of the bulbs is out.

 

Make sure your bulbs aren't on their way out. Try swapping the bulbs from the left and ride side to see if the problem switches sides...and if it does, replace the bulb.

 

do you have leds.
If you do then you can get a resistor to slow them down.

 

Check all your bulbs including your front blinkers.

on my sisters 92 integra LS i disconnected the battery to sand off the erosion and then when i put the battery cable back on, the left one blinked faster than the left. i took the battery off again to do something else then both of them blink all fast now. i just kind of left it. i dont like it tho. when i sit at a light. click click click click click click really fast..gets annoying :\

 

No, it is like the blinkers have a strobe kit in them. And they have done this since I bought the car a year ago. I have tested the bulbs, so they are good. They just go fast. Does anyone know what the standard blinking speed of a stock prelude. Could someone please just time how many blinks it does in a second/minute. Thanks.

 

2-3 blinks per sec. You might have a bad flasher relay.

i had that blinker prob with my civic. changed the bulb and it was fine.
