We're talking about preludes here, not LS1 camaros.

Do you think there is a difference between the JDM and USDM auto trannies? I am guessing that there were no auto Preludes in USA until 96 or 97. They have the ATTS (?). The JDM ones with an H22 were out there in the early 90s. Like the swap we are getting. I don't know the exact year, only that it is from a 92-95 auto Prelude, JDM.
How much does the TCM control. Is it the shift rpm and things like that?

Check the FAQ for Tranny Codes and Gearing first off.
Second, Yes there were Auto Preludes in the USA prior to '96. There were Auto's in '92 here, but no, they didn't have the ATTS system, that didn't start until the 5thGen SH, in '97.
I don't know if you are trying to say you are going to swap an ATTS Tranny/system into a 4thGen or not, but good luck with that pointless mod if so..

I think I could take an auto prelude with my BMW 3 series WAGON.....leaving the 19's on it
We are not Haters...we just hate Street Racing and BS battlecat stories
Go for the stick conversion if possible...Honda Prelude/Accord Automatics just weren't built for performance in any way shape or form.
How do I know this??? Gee I wonder.....

No I am not swapping auto trannys with a Prelude. I will be putting a JDM H22(200hp) auto trans swap into a 92 Integra. I am trying to get an idea of what the performance may be, or what to expect. By asking about auto Prelude performance I have created a crazy thread. (SORRY)

Here is some useful information for you for a change.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Acceleration is lively with either transmission. Our test Preludes accelerated from 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds with SportShift, and a swifter-yet 7.6 seconds with the 5-speed manual gearbox in an SH. While the you-do-it SportShift gear changes are crisp and immediate, high-rpm downshifts usually occur with a jerky lunge. On the plus side, SportShift's manual-shift capability gives the driver helpful control over engine speeds.</TD></TR></TABLE>
That means the 5spd is .9 seconds faster to 60mph over the automatic sportshift. Hope this helps.

true in todays standards.....but you have to remember this engine was put into 1992 preludes in japan. so 7.6 0-60 back then was something to talk about.
and i'll remind everyone that all things being equal. an auto prelude will never beat a 5spd prelude

That guy posted a reputable source which says alot more than your comment. I'm guessing you didn't bother to take the time to actually read the quote otherwise you'd see it says 7.6secs for the 5spd and 8.5 for the sportshift automatic...

7.6 is about right for a car producing 200/160
esp since these mags don't really abuse the launch. but you can be sure they were consistant in launching both models so its a fair comparison.
