My Nissan with say, 150 or so hp should not have beaten it. He could have been just messing with me. Letting me stay in front. I moved to the other lane when I cleared the car I was passing so he could go by but didn't. We were both still increasing speed but he never got beside me.
What hp rating is the new mazda RX8? I beat one of those once. It has the 6 speed tranny.</TD></TR></TABLE>
LOL!
I do not think he was racing you... Wow... Again I say...

the 5th gen h22 auto (which i own personally) actually is pretty impressive to my perspective it carries good accelleration and same amount of torque as to the 5spd but five less ponys, as for track time i would'nt think it would campare to as the 5spd, and as far as my experiences with races ( at the light, a little over than a 1/4 ) i've surpise my self with some wins over stock si's, celica ( gt, not gts) scion tc, mazda3,so its not bad have an auto but dont expect to go over a much challenge catogory then what i've type on.which is a reason im in the process of doing a tranny swap for 5spd, the feel is much more rewarding n i miss it

yea man, the auto ludes are good fun to drive and are relatively quick when compaired to cars in the same class...but dude over here is claiming wins over M3s SRTs and RX8s..maybe if he approached the subject with a little less bullshit he would have been flamed less..
there is a acr srt-4, it comes 16inch bbs rims, y dont u start searching about srt-4's other than that dont talk to me coz your waisting my time educating you about cars, and u know what, why dont u bring your car here were i lived,(in bakersfield to be specific) and ill show how my prelude h22a1 auto runs.. or maybe you juz cant shift...
i didnt say i raced an rx8,and as i said i hang with the srt-4 becoz he had boost leak problems before. my friend with the srt-4 didnt lied about it. Im not saying i beat the m3 5 cars or 8 its juz a carlength, get over it, and as i say i was lucky. dont hate.. we all had our races that God knows how the hell we won. so i was saying i was lucky!
hey hey...was dat lude...for sale...bc i traded a guy for my stock intake...lol....hopefully not...bc i member beating him really bad...cool....dude...but needs to convert to stick...
There's no way your car stood anywhere near an M3 that was actually racing. Especially an automatic prelude, I used to work at BMW for a year and the M class of cars are no joke.
As far as performance there is a SIGNIFICANT difference between at and mt preludes like probaly a full second or so maybe more. Plus the the torque converter and at equipement takes another 15% drivetrain loss, plus the at trannies are weak, plus it's only 4 speed etc. etc. Get a manual from the get go if you can.

I stand corrected, however the ACR is nothing but a suspension upgrade package. Larger sway bars, wheels, different seats, etc. There is a Stage 3 mopar add on, but that's not included in the package. Which wouldn't matter anyway, cause you can't hang with a stock SRT. When you say "hang" does that mean you could still see his tail lights?
Maybe you should look at it the other way around, your friend can't drive for ****. And telling me I can't shift, what the hell is that? 1st of all you've never seen me drive, and second of all, I raced FROM A ROLL, I had to shift once, maybe twice, like it's sooo hard to shift from 3rd to 4th. You drive an AUTO h22a1, your car is a shitload slower than any 5 speed Lude. Quit kidding yourself dude, your car is not fast and the kids you race are total idiots when it comes to operating a vehicle.

so today like I was totally racing this TT rx-7 and I totally waisted him with my N/A build.. preludes ftmfw. LMAO.. j/k
I can't believe people actually think they can beat a m3 or rx-8 with an auto lude.. man that makes me chuckle.

This thread sucks. Whoever decided to talk about how you beat all these cars, that post threw the whole thing off topic. Auto Performance is one thing completely opposite from lying about beating cars in your automatic Prelude...
yeah i remember it was my brother that raced you, and u did beat him. but he stayed in d4 in all those gears. maybe we could make a run sometime (from a roll)... this is he's brother your talking. dude y is theres a lot of haters in here.. u probably seen that grey m3 around with chrome rims and an asian guy drives. try racing him, he's kinda a ricer, hell pass u first and throw a hazzard on u, he did that to my friend with the srt-4. then he's going to wait for u.then race him. Are u going to test and tune on march 1st 2nd 3rd?mike right?
ok, this has gone far enough.
from PERSONAL experience, i know that an automatic lude doesnt stand a chance against a 5spd, let alone a M3. i have owned an 98 auto lude, and sold that ASAP to get my 00 SH. no matter how many mods you had on there, the auto tranny blows *** and it robs too much power.
and as for the rx8, they arent that fast at all, you have to know how to drive one of those to make it fast, as in rev it to the *****. ive beat one in my 00 SH, i had it off the line and it was catching up, but very slowly and we hit another red light before he could, so i guess that made me the i winner.

My auto SS with a Bad (real bad!!) 3rd gear clutch pack ran 16.1 with a passenger in the quarter mile. That's completely stock, not even an intake. It had the spare tire and almost a full tank of gas....It later ran a 15.9 under the same conditions. This is the reason I've ditched my auto for a 5 speed, I suggest you save the money and do the same.
prelude's aren't good drag cars, take it to an autocross and you'll hang with SRT-4 and the later model M3's

it is true automatic is not so powerful as 5 speed. if your using automatic and racing a 5speed, what i do is downshift to 2 or d3 it depends to your speed, like for 60 downshift to 2 gives me 4000rpm or 4500rpm, i always make sure my rpm is close hitting vtec becoz its not like u could powershift on auto right... this thread is about automatic performance anyways, so im juz giving my points here since im the one related. it juz pisses me off some people are juz haters. anywayz i apologized to the other guy that i said he cant shift. sorry dude..
lol...i know...this is like san quntien..fresh fish..lol...dont trip most of the guyz on here are relly helpfull...BUT be careful...with the dream stories...lol...u will get grilled....lol...

If 15.9 is an acurate # with a passenger and full tank of gas, that isn't that much slower than a stick. It seems that the average times from stick preludes with i/h/e is low 15s to high 14s. Some dip into mid 14s. Again, these are the averages that I see here on Honda-Tech. you say yours is stock, not even a intake. That gives me a pretty good idea of what to expect.
i TOO have a SS lude. It's slower than frozen
snot. I'm looking for a reputable source to do a 5spd swap here in N. VA.
BUT I do have a RX8 around the corner from me and I'll be sure to whip his *** tomorrow. LOL

i have an auto prelude, and i could barely keep up with an altezza (on the downhill, if it was uphill i would have been seriously fucked), let alone an srt-4 or an M3.
however, dont diss the auto prelude, it has its uses. an auto prelude is a good starter car for those interested in tuning and dont have much cash to spend...i absolutely love my car, reguardless of the fact that it's an auto tranny.

Absolutely. The prelude is good, you can even hang with the 5 speed as long as its not from a dead stop and only through 2nd and 3rd gear, realistically your taking less power (only by 5 hp) and your spreading it over 1 less gear. You'll have about the same mid-range punch, but low end and top end they'll get us auto guys. The up side is that in 2nd-3rd we stay in VTEC longer because we have that one less gear. If your really worried about it spend $500 bucks get a dry 75 shot of nitrious and that'll keep most things off your back.
I recently went to a club and when I was on my way out there were two guys looking at my car, they happend to own Prelude's as well and they said they liked that I kept it clean and were only sad to see that it was auto-tragic. I told them the auto was ok I've got something to make up for it, and I pointed to the back seat where I had the nitrous bottle mounted at the time. I've since ditched the bottle for boost and have taken up switching my auto to a 5 speed. So just because its an auto doesn't mean its not worth it, it just takes more money and time to get it as fast as other preludes with similar mods thats all.

the SS prelude tranny is much slower, for one it's an auto. two its only a 4 speed. i have friends with both srt-4 and m3. the only my car(a manual) could even come close to beating that is if he had MAJOR problems. and the same goes for the m3
