Default atts system

i just want to know if the ATTS system is being control by the ECU?
Because i was planning to buy a p28 ecu ?
I just want to know if this thing will affect my ATTS system?
Or the ATTS system being control by the ECU?

Yes, the ATTS is controlled by the ECU.

I actually just had a p28 ecu installed with hondata, and i looked into that problem.
the ATTS unit is actually controlled by a seperate computer.
my atts still works just fine with the p28 ecu.

Really? That's the first I've heard anyone say that the ECU swap doesn't affect the ATTS computer . . . including Hondata.

Same here.. Anyone else care to comment? Are you sure your atts is still working because I doubt the atts light comes on to indicate that it's not working like it does with the stock ecu.

Your atts is disabled, but your new ECU doesnt know it. hence no lights.

then if the ATTS is on a completely different computer then why would the ecu have any effect on it? Also, my light does come on but only when i throttle it hard in corners because of the setup i have.

the 2 computers tie in together. The ecu and the atts control unit. With a chipped ECU, i doubt it will pick up on the atts. Time to ditch it and get a base trans!

Yeah, my understanding is that the ATTS control unit relies on inputs from the stock ECU.

You need your main ecu to retain atts. Just get something like greddy e-manage to tune.

First of all, why were you looking at getting a p28?

p28 ecus are good to chip because they are cheap. You can customize them to exactly what you want.

It'd be one thing to want a p28 for Hondata (or something like it) to tune, but it's kind of ridiculous to just get a p28 to customize .

Apexi VAFC and Greddy E-manage are good option. E-Manage falls somewhere between the VAFC and Hondata. I've only had my 98 SH a few weeks and can understand fully why you don't want to lose ATTS. With only i/h/e both of those options should do the job well.
