anyone strip the threads for the slave cylinder?

Default anyone strip the threads for the slave cylinder?

has anyone ever stripped the threads on the tranny for the slave cylinder? whats an easy and sufficient fix? i guess my options are longer bolt (if possible), use a standard bolt, or get a thread insert. im inclined to use a longer bolt or standard bolt bc its easier. and if u think about it, since it was so easy to strip the threads due to overtightening, the slave cyl probably doesnt need to be on there that tight anyway...

Back when I had my original H23, I had trouble starting a bolt on the slave and cross-threaded it upon insertion. I've recently had to replace the slave on my H22 and did not have any trouble tightening it once I made sure it wasn't cross-threaded.

Conclusion: it sucks replacing I know. I recommend you tap out the threads to the next size bolt, be it standard or not - and try again. There may be room for a longer bolt, but I don't think that would be any easier to do it that way. You do need it to be snug - aluminum is weak and a torque wrench might be helpful as well.

--Edit-- You could heli-coil it if you want to go all out. It's really not necessary though.

i ended up using longer bolts and it worked for me. the threading goes in about 40mm while the bolt is about 25mm
