Bad Temp Sensor or Something else???
As some may know I have a 93 Prelude SI with an H22 swap. Been fixing stuff daily. The thermostat was bad so I took it out and I am 0-3 on the right size!! I have what I hope to be the right one on the way so I am driving to work with out one. I drive to work 20 minutes each way. I drive to work in 4-5 pm traffic an the temp guage stays at half. Driving home around 10-11 pm I notice the temp climbing and it hits red before I get home. I have a laser/temp gun that I carry in my cars. I check the temp when the guage is in the red and it's only at 185-195 F. Next day I drive to work it's the same thing. I park it for a few days get a minute to to address the CEL. Only had two codes (21-22). Looking at the VTEC pressure switch (I do believe that's what it is as its the lower plug) and noticed that the actual Vtec plug running the ECU and not hooked up. I had it started and unplugged the plug. Fans turned off (fans have constantly been runnning from day one and I wondered why). I hooked the plug up to the sensor on the thermostat housing.
I let it run for about 45 minutes and the fans never turn on at any point. Temp starts climbing to the red so let it run for another 30 minutes and check the temp.
