Default 4th gen 5 lug conversion w/ Civic SI wheels

I want to put 17 inch wheels on my 92 SI, but i want it to look like it came that way from the factory. I just want an updated look. My idea is to do the five lug conversion and put on the 06 07 civic si wheels. I've read through the five lug conversion thread several times, and it just seems a little vague to me. I really wish someone would do a how-to with pictures. Has anyone done this conversion? Is my idea to use civic wheels a good one or will i run into problems with the offset and stuff?

Why not do the 5 lug from a 5th gen and put RSX wheels. IS the bolt pattern on the 06-07 civics the same as the old civics, if not, I see some fun trying to piece that together.

I am pretty sure that RSXs never had 17 in wheels. I heard there was a how-to on preludeonline, but unfortunately i think that site is dead.

rsx type s come with 17inchers, thats on the 05-06's
mine are from a '04 type S or base, still had the 16s with +45 offset

I stand corrected. However, I am sure I couldnt find them near as easily as the civic wheels, and if I could, Im sure they would be way out of my price range. Does anyone know what happened to preludeonline and if there is any way to see that how-to?

there was someone selling Si wheels in the PA area on tristatetuners. dont know if they are still there. you would be surprised what people sell for how much these days. i picked up my rsx wheels with tires for 180!

I've heard that the 5-lug conversion narrows the rear track a bit (half an inch on both sides?) Is this true, and if so exactly how much (mm). I would like to fill out my fenders as much as possible.

I thought about something similar. I started wondering what the Honda Oddessy that has 5 lug 16's or 17's that look VERY similar to the 7-spoke 92-93 Prelude Si/VTEC wheels. I wish they had a set that looked like the 94-96 Prelude Si/VTEC wheels but that didn't happen.
