I use honda chain wax. I put my bike on the pitbull, and clean the chain with an old tooth brush. I think apply the chain wax generously after the cleaning. Seems to hold up nicely!

WD 40 and a grunge brush for the cleaning. Grunge brush:
Try to just spray in between the links to lube the o rings.
Some people insist on spraying the whole chain. All it does is collect dirt
Proper place to lube:

WD40 is only good for cleaning. You should use a separate chain lube after.

Oh ok.
So let's be clear then...
DON'T LUBE YOUR CHAIN WITH WD40!!!
It should only be used to clean the chain when enough crap builds up on it. You should use a separate motorcycle specific chain lube/wax of your preference to lube the chain.

Alright, now for a third question. What about frequency of lubing/waxing? Approx. how many miles?

yeah I used to mine about every 500 miles but seemed as though chain was getting extremely noisy sooner than that so now i do about every 200-250 and seems to be ok.
i looked through my FSM and it says to use 80-90 gear oil does anybody else use this?

I use the can spray they have in the bike shop. WD40 to clean it. I have been cleaning/lubing after every one of my rare rides since theres so much **** on the roads, but come summer time, I do the every 4 days things since i puttin gon about 60-100 a night. I dunno i feel like as long as your not using something harmful to clean it, u cant really do it too much. I check my chain tension while its up the stands as well.
