Default Using Regular Auto Coolant?

Iknow this sound stupid but curiosity hit me.. anyways can u use regular automobile coolant with water mixture on a motorcycle?

Yes, you can. Or just straight water. Or any mixture of water with a percentage of coolant. Or water w/ cooling additives.

I wouldn't run 100% coolant though. Any measure of 50/50 or below should be fine.

Do not use any car coolant that has silicates in it. It will damage the seals in a bikes motor. I know with hondas a lot of people had problems with their water pumps failing because they used car coolants with silicates.

Read the label first

why would you want to? a bottle of water-wetter is like $10 tops. i've flushed my system like 3 times now and am using the same bottle water-wetter i bought over 2 yrs ago.

True. You are in a semi-moderate climate that doesn't have many days in freezing conditions so you don't need 'anti-freeze'. Distilled water would work fine and transfer heat better than a coolant. Pop for the distilled stuff and not the tap.

I've used tap with no problem. I opt for distilled but if it not around not much you can do.
