chaparral GSXR750 RACE BIKE

when you first walk in to Chaparrel San Bernardino there is a (i think) 02' GSXR750 Race Bike. What im wondering is the swing arm. it looks like it was shortened, is this for a shorter wheel base for the turns???

Might be one O those infamous "kit" parts - prolly shorter (but not by much).
