Default Blip the throttle while engine breaking?

just curious, do you guys blip the throttle to rev match when you drop gears to engine break? and also do you go through every single gear to engine break when breaking hard? i normally go through all the gears to engine break, but i had to break fast today and i was crusing on 5th on the streets and to break suddenly i dropped it to like 2nd.

I do it all the time unless its i dont have time, but i know its easier on the bike and goes into the gears better for we when i blip it/rev match.

I'm trying to use myself to bliping the throttle, but is it physically possible to do it while grabbing the front brake? It costs me so much to do the two things together, don't even know if it's physically possible for an average rider.

do you have long first gear on your duc? i never dropped it to first on my f4i, but the r1 has a really long first gear, even though I am going like 20 i drop it to first.

it's something you get used to. I also don't worry too much about the jolt, as my slipper clutch does a good job of softening the downshift.

i see the people on track doing that, but i dunno if i am doing it correctly or not. but I brake first, then let go...grab the clutch, drop a gear, blip the throttle and drop the clutch simutaneously. and i am still kind of putting pressure on the rear brake.

it is so much harder to do on my truck (stick)

Engine...brake. You definitely don't want your engine to break.

It's possible to blip while braking, but it takes practice. Long fingers help, but you can adjust your lever so that it's closer.

<-- Blipper + letting the clutch out slow.

And let the clutch out each time you downshift.

It just takes some practice.

To answer the original question. Yes, I revmatch when downshifting. Depending on the situation, I'll skip a gear.

I do it in a very similar fashion to you. Just as I'm letting the F brake go, I'm putting pressure on the clutch, drop a gear and the blip. All while keeping some pressure on the rear.

I will try to practice doing the blip while holding the brake, I guess like most things it just requires muscle memory.

yup, it's defiinitely hard. it's a lot easier to do in a car

i still havent quite gotten it down. but i think i'm gonna get a slipper clutch and not worry about it.

braking and blipping together takes a bit of practice but it's pretty easy unless you're at race pace.

I have no problem using the front brake and bliping the throttle at the same time, just takes practice. I also rev match my downshifts.

downshifts on the 10 is a little more tricky since the gears are so damn close together and really tall - you almost dont need to rev match because there is only a few hundred rps apart and it has a fantastic slipper clutch. But still a little blip normally smooths things out nicely.

I went out and practiced a lot today...and I think I got the hang of it...just need more practice.

I was using the three middle fingers to grab the brake, and I was able to blip the throttle with the rest of my hand, felt kinda awkward in the beginning, but at the end of the day I was feeling more confident.

I guess this just gives one more excuse to go riding

Couldn't you have just used your regular brakes?

I always use my brakes to stop, and sometimes use engine braking to slow down... it is just that I am used to engine braking that it is an immediate reaction...plus if you just womp on the brakes from that speed, the bike tends to skid and slide

I use just my index finger and middle finger (sometimes just my index) for breaking - the rest do the throttle

Yeah, like everyone said it just takes some practice. Like heal-toe in a car
