Re: My CR-Z light tuning, video.
i can have low mpg if i want, but i'll have to push it very hard
my worst mpg was on a track day i got 18.8 US mpg (12.5 L for 100 km)
on daily using sport mode 31.8 mpg (city)
highway at 84mph = 33.6 mpg
if speed is lower i can reach 40 mpg or more.
ideal speed for mpg record is 44mph in 6th gear (sleeping)
the best territory to have fun and a nice mpg is middle sized roads, with not much hill climb to do. On that kind of road it is almost impossible to have a bad mpg.
on www.team-CRZ.com I am the one with the worst figures, all of them acheive 47 US mpg, but they live in flat regions...

Re: My CR-Z light tuning, video.
offset 40mm (this is close to perfect)
Oz : 7x17 ET 40
holes 5x114.3
tires conti 205/45 R17 my wheel + tire setup is 15,4 kg only.
Rays Nuts 23 gram
with this mount front is full, some margin for rear, but i prefer to have 4 identical wheels, and I absolutely don't want anything between the brake disc and wheel.
the result is light and clean, and it feels very good in hand, tight cornering, somtime one rear wheel up in the air, still the car feels very stable.
any other choice of wheel would lead to heavier setup, and loss of compfort or wet road performance.
stock optionnal 17 inches with tire are 19.2 kg
similar Oz wheel 18 inches + potenza are 17,8 kg
my tire pressure for daily city use is 2.2 bar
it feels better on track with 2.3 bar or 2.4 bar square.

Re: My CR-Z light tuning, video.
But with the last ring in contact with the mushroom shaped air filter I was loosing some torque, so I kept only the front section (trapezoidal).
Even in heavy rain the car never seemed to suck any water, even at high speed. The design from the front grille is clever.
With my scoop I manage to keep intake air temp cool from speed 20mph and up.

Re: My CR-Z light tuning, video.
I had to move from mobile me to Dropbox
so the long video "Daluis! " refused by youtube is now downloadable on dropbox it is one of the greatest canyon road of the south of France! (see below, links in the signature)
We just had a great meeting over a week with a peak @ 19 CR-Z
i am working on making a new video, but this will take some time ...
we did a test drive with a Honda France representative : he sort of rally-pilot my car and his verdict was that all my mods went in the right direction in making the car stable agile light and with a better rev-happy engine, he especially underlined the gain in chassis, braking, and the fact that the engine was rev-happy even when climbing a hill with IMA depleted was barely felt.
GE8 intake manifold
testpipe
oil system work (mugen filter, 0w20 motul + RAN*UP)
Spoon front brake pads
OZ 17 inches wheels with 10 mm wider track.
carbon bonnet
2kg 12v Shorai power Li-Fe battery
removed rear seats and stuff

Re: My CR-Z light tuning, video.
also i saved 7kg + by replacing the heavy Pb battery (1940 technology)
by a Li-Fe Shorai Power battery (2000 technology)
the Pb 12v battery is fading very fast in CR-Z because it is not used right,
the CR-Z need a power suppy type batter and NOT a startup battery
those two are completely different king of battery.
ask a camping-car specialist if you can replace the engine battery with the solar power battery, both are 12V but NOOOO those are two different kind.
In the CR-Z it is tricky about that.
now with Li-Fe PO SO4 Shorai Power it is rock solid and can work even by -40°C to +160°C and neither melt nor explode if short circuit.
saved 7.5 KG & works better
* you can see it in my engine bay from 00:20 to 00:22 in the SoWAT 2 video below
