Icon2 Bad heater core or.....?

Hello one and all and Merry Christmas. Just a quick question. I just put a brand new radiator and thermostat in my daughters 2000 CRV yesterday. Everything works great, i.e., no leaks, etc. but the inside of the car does not get warm until you start driving. Don't have to go far and it gets very-very toasty indeed but it just doesn't get very warm inside while sitting and warming up the engine even after 10-15 min.'s. Is that just a trait of Honda's or does that maybe indicate that the heater core is going out? It seems like the heater core is fine in that it gets very toasty once you're moving but kind of strange to stay so cold even after warming up so long. Whatcha guys think? Thanks

Have you changed the cabin air filter recently?

No, never as far as I know. Where is that located and how difficult to get to? Thanks.

Never mind....Googled it and found a video of the process on YouTube. Thanks for your quick reply and suggestion. Would an old or clogged up air filter cause this sort of symptom/problem? Thanks

It did in mine. Didn't know about it myself til I looked it up. Changed mine about 2 weeks ago.

Mine was totally plugged. Much better now.

Most cars don't get warm sitting still very quickly. I don't think you have a problem
