Will 90 Si exhaust manifold work with HF motor?
My friend has been looking to replace his cat on his 90 Crx Hf, the problem is that he has not been able to find an aftermarket replacement cat for his car.
He cannot afford to buy the OEM version since it is so expensive.
My question to anyone who can help... Is it possible to use an exhaust manifold from an Si motor and also use an Si catalytic convertor?
Or does anyone know of an aftermarket cat for the HF?
Before I get flamed.. Yes I searched for an answer and this is a California crx

it will all bolt up. not sure if it will pass emissions, as i've never had to deal with that. but i don't see any reason it woudln't unless they have pictures to go by for what its supposed to look like.

Im pretty sure too it would bolt up. My only concern is will it run with this setup and pass smog also..

mine is 89 civic hatch standard, I also have cat on the downpipe.
if you decided to use si exhaust manifold (header), it will work (bolt on)
but to mount si cat, you need to cut & weld it to your mid pipe.
if you just need to install si manifold. it will all bolt up directly to your mid pipe,
which would skip the cat.

I'm still running my CRX HF's stock exhaust. My gas mileage and power were disappearing so I dropped my JDM D15B's header and a Z6 Down pipe to the HF mid-pipe; cutting out the use of a cat. I've got all my power and gas mileage back. The HF cat has over 244K miles on it... I think that it's beyond it's years So I'm looking locally for a DX/Si Midpipe, or will have my HF's modified so I can put a cat on. (Need to be legal )

Yeah I kinda of figured that was going to be his only option (cutting and welding).. My concern was more for performance issues if I used the si manifold and cat..
Thanks for the info thou..
