hf crx header/cat fitment
i have an 89 crx hf that i just bought and im about to put a d16z6 in it. im gonna use the exhaust mani and downpipe from a 91 crx si. the cat on an hf is 2" off the header not down farther in the exhaust system like other models. will i be able to put the header in there from the si and have it match up to the stock hf exhaust, and if so how would i get a cat in there or do i just have to weld one in?

Re: hf crx header/cat fitment (JCushing)
The Si header will bolt to your exhaust pipe flange and eliminate the cat converter completely. I had an 88 Civic STD with this setup a while back. If you're worried about emission laws or whatever then all you need to do is get an aftermarket cat and have it welded in after the header flange.

Re: hf crx header/cat fitment (VTECVillain)
thanks for the quick reply. i didnt get anything on the ef forum. my main concern was i was prolly gettin a used dc sports cat back for a crx si to go with it and i didnt really wanna chop the dc piping but i should just be able to bolt that up then put a cat in the downpipe?
