Re: What kind of Cold air Intake do u have ?
if ur in it for the nice noise tone add a intake filter one ur rubber tube and tak ur stock air box off but do not add a metal pipe thinking ur car gets faster cuz it wont on a stock build with a aftermarket intak only introduces hot air into combustion which is bad for performance and gas millage. if u want a better chance at some gas by a little shot at it i mean and a little performance gain theres no lie that the stock air box with a k&n are beautiful pair together its got a tone to it aswell jus not as loud like ppl lik with a aftermarket one. i got 2 forsale if ur interested tho one for a ef chassie and 00 aem civic si

Re: What kind of Cold air Intake do u have ?
Like I said before I'll be using my stock tube and since the stock one is kinda short I want to extend it a bit longer so that it won't hit the battery . The problem is I don't know which part to make it longer ...a tube from eBay or PVC pipe from lowes /home depot? I think I only need around from 2" to 3" to get away from the battery ... Anyone have this kind of design ?

Re: What kind of Cold air Intake do u have ?
In my opinion 90% of the intakes on the market are trash.
Years ago I made my own 5" dia ram air set up that feed from the right fog light to the stock airbox. To assure that I would not hydrolock the engine, I built flipper valves into the stock air box. I then used a K&N flat filter and it made all the difference on the dyno. With this setup I beat out an open TB, a velocity stack and a short ram.
I used an air temp sensor that sits just after the airbox, and on average read air temps 2-4* above the current outside air temps instead of the average 110*+ engine bay air. I also used a pressure gauge to read Intake manifold pressures and got a half pound of pressure at the Throttle Body at 90 mph.
Overall not a bad setup for costing only $20 and about 4-5 hours of fab time.
With my new 2.0ltr I am designing a even larger setup that will feed from the very front of the bumper with a 10" dia opening. Just have to wait and see.

Re: What kind of Cold air Intake do u have ?
I used to have an ebay cold air intake with stainless steel air filter for my d16a6 engine 1991 CRX. The two-piece intake pipe was always rubbing the side of the battery and the stainless steel air filter started to rust at the edges.
Now I have a 1-piece AEM that fits with no rubbing and comes with a better air filter. Old AEMs for CRXs used to be 2 piece like the ebay knock-offs. Comparing the AEM vs. the ebay intake, the one-piece AEM intake pipe routes a little different which improved the fitment and flow (1 piece vs. 2 piece). Also, the AEM came with a CARB sticker so I don’t have to worry if I get pulled over here in California. Quality cold air intake from AEM.
