Walbro Pump, Best install method, what filter/sock is needed??
I was doing some researching on putting a walbro 255 (still not sure to get the regular or the HP255) and I came across 2 threads on here where guys used the wrong socks/filters and didnt get good performance out of the crx's after the install and couldnt go below half a tank etc.
Is there a certain kit that is best to buy for our cars that works perfectly??
Alot of the kits look to come with cheesy butt connectors and a few inches of hose. Is there a DIY on how to install one of this professionally for a higher hp application (possibly supplying the pump with a bigger power supply/rewire)

Is there a certain or specific reason for that kit? There is cheaper for sale, but why do they come with the cheap install gidgets, and why do they all include that 5" piece of fuel hose?
Can you tell ive never had my fuel pump out lol

the kits comes with a rubber spacer/cushion that seats at the bottom of the pump when installed into the hanger.
this makes the pump to be at the right height once plunged into the tank.
you have to cut/trim down the 5" neoprene hose once measured from the pump's outlet towards the brass/copper feed line fixed underneath the hanger assembly.
it's quite easy in fact and will not take you much time installing one though it's a PITA for us to pull down the tank itself and then install back.

yes you'll want to use the SOCK with that kit.....
when i installed my walbro 400 i tried to use the EG sock and it wouldn't work, so had to carefully take off the sock i had on my walbro 255 pump.

You'll know in the end ifyou used the right one. If it gets problems around a quarter tank then it's wrong. The pick above shows the right one
