walbro fuel pump install question.......
this is on my DA. i confirmed the "+" sign for the wiring, so i should be good there. my question is with the fuel filter that came with my kit. i have a plastic extension pc that came with the install kit. this could go between the filter and the pump. this would allow the filter to sit about an inch lower. should i use this pc? i'm thinking this might help the having to keep the tank half full. this seems to be an issue i've read about with these pumps. thoughts? i'm ready to reinstall this.
thanx.

Yes you have to use everything that came with the install kit or you WILL have problems, thats what gives walbro pumps bad names sometimes is INPROPER install
I have a DA as well and I properly installed my pump and I have NO issues, at any tank level.

yeah, i saw those, there only like a 1/4 inch round with the hole in the middle right? i berely saw them when they fell out of the bag.... i just push em on right?
also, would it hurt to put a pc of foam between the pump and bracket? my kit didn't come with the foam sock.
thanx again.

Yes, just be sure you push them on all the way so it secures everything tightly
You need the rubber spacer that comes with the kit that goes between the walbro and bracket, don't use "foam" or whatever, you don't need to be rigging things up DO IT RIGHT
And the "foam sock", are you referring to the rubber spacer I covered above or the filter sock that goes on the pump inlet? You need the specific one that came with the kit either way.
Just please don't rig up your pump, please do it properly with the parts walbro intended to go with the kit as it all fits up like stock and you won't have to worry about it having problems

Re: walbro fuel pump install question....... (ej8)
thanks, i got it in. i used a super small socket to press em on. that way i had even pressure all around it. no, i was talking about the space on the side. there is like 3/4 of an inch between the side of the bracket and the pump. i saw some kits came with a foam tube to put around the pump. mine didn't. once the outlet tube was connected to the bracket, it isn't going anywhere. i ended up noticing the plastic extender made it just long enough to clear the pump bracket on the bottom. i used all the pcs, including the new fuel filter "sock" that came w/ the kit. no rigging here, trust me. all in all pretty straight forward. i hope i don't have any leaks hooking all the fuel lines back up though. thanx for all the help, i appreciate it.
