Valve noise?
I have a slight ticking from my engine, which I assumed was valve noise.
A buddy of mine told me to tighten down the little flat-head screws that are on the springs in case they are loose. Would this help?
I already checked oil pressure, it's fine. Someone also told me that Honda valvetrains are just plain noisy. Is that true?

First off, make sure its not the fuel injectors.
Second, you can't just tighten them down, you have to check valve lash . Here you go.

Good info. I also recomend getting the tool from snap on to adjust your valves with. It makes it 100 times easier. If your car is vtec, it could be your LMAs aswell, expecially if you have big cams. Start by adjusting the valves and then go from there.

(LMA's get pretty freakin loud too)
Anyway, do not just tighten them with a screwdriver, I repeat DO NOT

Re: Valve noise? (Tippyman)
It's might not be your valves. I have the same noise but mines very loud. We checked for valve lash but all were very very tight because of my cams. It's my injectors. They are extremely loud. Put a screw driver ontop of were each valve position and listen then put it on the injectors. You might find out it's just your injectors. Wish you the best of Luck.

Re: (big22)
Go with the one that doesn't require a wrench (I.E. completely integrated). The torque specs on the jam nuts aren't very high (slightly over hand tight).

Bringing this back up, this tool will not work on b16 or vtec heads in that case. Its made for a 12mm and the b vtec heads are 10mm. Bart its your fault, I emailed amazon and they stated this.
