Transmission help
So i have a b18a1 in my crx and i recently swapped transmission because my old one was going out. This new one felt great, until i got to 5th. i'm not sure if i have a 4spd trans or 5th gear is just gone?
I can feel it go in to 5th but it just feels like its in neutral. i stopped my car, didn't step on the clutch and tried to put it in 5th, and it went right in.
i had a ys1(non lsd) and i put in an A1 trans.
Also while i took out my old trans, the shift linkage bent really badly but only at the end where the shifter connects. Im not sure if this has anything to do with it but thats just more info.
please help!

Re: Transmission help
Yeah that's what i might just do. It's weird though. Is it possible to run a tranny with no 5th gear? It doesnt grind in or anything. It shifts into fifth like any other gear.

Re: Transmission help
If fifth gear is gone then there is metal floating around inside the trans. I would not keep running it that way, it could damage the other gears and the bearings.
the ys1 and a1 internals are different I think, so you can use the fifth from the ys1.
