Default tranny has some sort of whining noise.PLEASE HELP!!

well i have recently dropped a b16 in my hatchback. i had it for about a 2 months. yesterday all of a sudden my car started making a noise. it only makes the noise while im in a gear and i only notice it in through 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th gear.

and if i put it in gear and let it deaccelerate the noise goes off and on.and if i accelerate it gets louder till at a certain rpm (maybe like 4000 not sure) it stops until i shift again then it would start making the noise again in that gear. any idea guys? please help! and its a s1 tranny too.

That ain't good. I'd suggest checking the fluid level, then draining and refilling your trans (if it's even a little low) as a start using Honda MTF. If it still whines after that it could be a bearing problem.

I was having the same problem with my d16 tranny, it turned out that i needed input shaft bearing. i just had the tranny rebuild with all new bearings.
