Default no start fml!

So I went toast friends house to use his timing light and the car was starting fine. We lossened the bolts to the dizzy and the car just wouldnt turn over. Now its barley sparking we started it like 5 times adjusting the dizzy then bam just stoped. Took. Apart the dizzy and everything looks in good shape but there is alot of play in the rotor?. I was told when I bought the car that the dizzy plugs and wires were all new. Oh and last weekend I had a very very strong spark.

There shouldn't be any shaft play in the rotor itself... Also you say it stopped turning over? So your battery is dead or you fried your starter? You are only supposed to use the starter 10-15 seconds at a time MAX!!!

i have another question the rotor was all plastic but when i took the screw out it also took a metal cap that slides over the post in the dizzy. I was wondering if that is suppossed to sit in the rotor or is that suppossed to attach to the post in the dizzy. I guess what im trying to say is inside the rotor where it mounts in the dizzy should that be metal or all plastic?

Obviously metal... If the rotor was completely plastic how would electricity be conducted? The rotor has a metal sleeve built into it and should not come out. Sounds like you need a new rotor...

Sounds like the set screw came out. Get a new rotor, use some loctite on the set screw when you install it.

I maybe wrong but when looking at the dizzy the igntion coil comes up to the cap and then you can see in the plastic where the metal comes through then in the middle there is a post that comes down on the rotar and the whole top assambly is metal but the bottom is not.But im gonna pick up a new rotor and give it a shot thanks!
