New to the site. Just got an 86 CRX Si (for free).. pics
This is how it looked the day I brought it home
I just got a set of rims/tires off Craigslist for it..
and I'm working on cleaning up the interior.. new carpet kit and floormats arrived today.. and a roll of dynamat-like stuff should be arriving tomorrow..
The drivers side window regulator was broken, and it had been rained on for a week or two, with the window open. So the carpet was soaked, as well as the sound deadening stuff under it.. that's why I yanked it all out, to let it dry thoroughly (yes, I've replaced the window regulator).
It was a friends' car, and had been sitting in her garage for the last 6 years or so.. she knew I am into cars, so she offered it to me for free as long as I picked it up... so I rented a tow dolly and brought it home a week or two ago.
I've got a set of Monkeytek coilovers and KYB shocks on the way, to lower the stance a little bit.. then I need to get it smogged and registered, and it'll be my new driver to replace my 90 Civic 4-door.

Re: New to the site. Just got an 86 CRX Si (thursday)
RedPepper is awesome.. actually the guys over there pointed me here when I asked about other Honda sites. .. lots of good info between the two sites.
My goal is to get this thing cleaned up real well, and have it handle like it's on rails
Oh.. I also need to add A/C to it.. it doesn't have A/C now, so I need to make a trip to the local Pick N Pull yard to see what I can get.

You know, at least a dozen people have told me to hang on to those original phone dial rims.. but I think they're ugly as hell... I've had them listed on Craigslist for sale, and on RedPepper's classified section for sale... but nobody seems to want to buy them. ... as far as I can tell.. nobody else likes them either!

guys.. please make note.. if you're interested in the phone dials... I can NOT reply to the PM's people are sending me because I'm still a "trial user". Please email me directly if you're interested in them!! I need to get rid of them. Make me a reasonable offer!
