Well I got completly pissed because the boots I got from kragen (oreillys), didnt fit. The passenger side was to big and the driver side was to small. Why cant they, or any other auto parts store for that matter, carry the same exact part??? NOw IM running the same torn boots, and my alignment is off again, but just by a little bit...lol.

IM thinking about that really small pipe wrench idea, if I could find one.

yeah man just replace your inner tie rods and rack end bushing and if the boots on your outer tie rods are cracked and oil is coming out replace those aswell.make hella of a difference.you'll thank me later.you don't wanna halfass somethin that has to do with your steering.its easier to do your rack end bushing with the rack out.with the rack in it took me a hr to just to do the rack end bushing and thats with skillz LOL

How would I be able to tell if inner tie rods need replacing? From what I heard, you only need to change them if they broke or got bend some how. Mines still seem like they're cool.

just go back to Kragens or any parts store or lowes, home depot. just get a 12in long one. get it in nice and tight. the good thing about the pipe wrench is that if you need more leverage, the handle is thin enough to put a pipe/breaker bar on it to get more leverage on it.

I might need to do this to my 93 Cx hatch. It's got 180,000 miles on the chassis and the steering wheel has developed some slop over the past week or so. When I grab the driver side wheel at 9 & 3 and give it a wiggle...I can feel a bit of play and a sound that seems to be coming from the inner tie rod steering rack area.

lock your steering wheel. wiggle your tires side to side. if they make clunking noises or have play your inner rods may be bad. check outer first

your inner tie rods are bad when you unbolt your outer tie rod and all the tie rods just drop
