How to adjust pinion gear box
Got a 90 crx dx and i'm just wondering if there is a certain way to adjust it? Or is it just like a trail and error kinda thing?
I'm just wondering cause I put on new inner and outer tie rods and a new steering rack bushing a while ago, but i never adjusted the pinion gearbox.
And what exactly is it supposed to feel like?

Re: How to adjust pinion gear box
The instructions show how to adjust, but it's gonna take some trial & error.
Ideally I found it's best as tight as possible without any drag or notchyness anywhere from lock to lock. This means you want to start off tight & notchy and back it off a little at a time until it's all gone. It's a lot of crawling in & out from under the car to adjust & check. Totally worth it though.

Steering Rack Guide Adjustment
The special tool is sold out and discontinued. It's VERY hard to get a standard tool in there on most cars.
When it's too tight, the steering will be darty especially on stiff suspension driven on the street. The wheel doesn't return to center like normal. It just wont feel right.
