Horn Switch Question, Wire Colors, Already Searched
Hey you guys...
I recently replaced my stock steering wheel with one of the cheap sport ones from APC. The horn switch spring didn't quite function the way I liked, so I took it out and bought a momentary toggle switch from AutoZone (12V Rated) and installed it into a panel in the dash. All I have left to do is find the wires and connect them.
Now I'm no electrician, but the switch has two terminals on the back, and if I connect positive to one terminal and negative to the other, when I hit the switch the horn should sound. I am having trouble finding the wiring diagram that shows the colors of the neg. and pos. for the horn. I see 1 R/Bu (I'm assuming that that means red/blue) on the diagram, but no semblance of a neg. wire to connect to the other terminal...hmmmm...
State inspection is coming up and I need to find a way to do this rather quickly.
Thanks!

The negative grounds through the steering column, I think. Just hook the wire from the horn to one side of the switch and the other side of the switch goes to ground.

My horn stopped working so I just removed the stock one and put it on a switch. I know its not much help, just a suggestion.

The horns are connected to a constant 12V power source and the horn switch is on the negative leg of the horn(s) circuit. Both terminals of the horn switch will be connected to the negative leg of the circuit, one wire from the horn(s) negative (ground) to the horn switch and the other wire from the horn switch to chassis ground. I have a 87 CRX so my wire colors won't help you, however, for me 12V to horns is White/Green and negative (ground) of horn(s) is Blue/Red. For cars, the switch for circuits switches the negative leg of the circuit, power is usually constant or comes on when ignition is on. Hope this helps.
