Ok, first I did the old school carb cleaner trick to detect for leaks. I sparyed carb cleaner all over my vac. lines and intake manifold and the rpm of the motor did not change at all. So I went to sears and bought a vac gauge.
With my engine warm and at idle my reading was 21 1/2 with a steady needel. From my understanding that is a perfect running motor. Anything from 18-22 is great. I held the rpms at 2,000 and the gauge red 22. Thats telling me I dont have a leak correct? So back to what hasport said. Do you think my o2 could be to low in the header and thats why its not reading correctly? My car is deff running rich.

If my valves are not justed correctley wouldent it of shown in my vac test? Can you use a streight feeler gauge or do you need the angled one? I have not tryed yet.

I took my header off and had a new o2 bung welded on where it should be, put it back togetheir, cleared the ECU and the same thing happened. Code 2 and running rich. My 14 day free re inspection is up tomorrow so I cleared the ecu and droped the CRX off at the shop tonight to get emessions done. I will know tomorrow morning if it does any better this time around. It was free this time so I figured why not. When I get it back I will adjust the valves/check the clearence.

i forgot something really crucial though and often missed. if your catalyc converter is clogged up, the car usually runs rich , wont pass the emmission tes, and irregulates the O2 readings. if you go to a muffler shop theyll check it for free.

Well it failed again, it did better this time, my nox reading passed but everything else failed. The emessions guy started to try to diagnose the car but he said since it was a swap he could not figure it out. He thinks (like you said) that the cat could be cloged or my plug wires could be bad ( I did not ohm them out yet). Im going to try and order a cat this week.

im sorry to push the issue but if your valves are not gapped right, it will give you the same symptoms. a cat converter 100\ valve check = 6 pucks for feeler gauge and 20 bucks for valve cover gasket. do the math
