engine paint question on headers
just bought a 4-2-1 ceramic coated header and i was thinking about welding a skid plate on the bottom of the downpipes. iv got black engine paint at work and i was wondering if that would withstand the heat the header would create? or is this just a bad idea?
iv got an oem dohc zc exhaust manifold 4-2-1 on right now and its all flat and i just didnt want this to happen to my new header.

Re: engine paint question on headers (janz3n)
I don't think the paint would stick to the ceramic coat too well without buffing, and that would propabably defeat the purpose of the ceramic.
There are coating available that come in black, one of them is called JetHot Coatings I think
