e-brake handle removing

you have to take the parking brake cover piece off (pop out the covers that hide the screws in the front and back), and there will be a few bolts holding the handle in, i think it's 3 of them. it's been a while since i replaced mine, so i'm going from memory. you also have to remove the parking brake cable by loosening the tensioner part until it comes off. obviously, you will not want the parking brake to be engaged when you are doing this, so put it in gear or otherwise secure the car!
the whole process should take you like 15 mins.
EDIT: did you get a WHOLE new parking brake handle, like this:
or an aftermarket piece that is just the part you put your hand on, like this:
if it's the latter, then like the person above said, pull and twist. it's a bitch to get off, i got the one out of my fiance's car.

a nice sized pair of channel lock pliers and a couple of twists got her off. thanks for the help guys
