Default d16a6 ignition timing prob

ok a little history. i got a '90 civic Si that had a blown hg and other issues. i replaced all that i needed and when i installed the crank pulley i originally set the cam timing to the red mark instead of the white mark. however the car ran perfect (ran a 15.8 at the track) for a year before i realized what i did. then the little tiny screw that holds the rotor to the dizzy came out and made turned the sensors inside the dizzy into dust. so i had to replace the dizzy. when i did that i changed the cam timing to correctly be set by the white mark. car starts up fine now but there is a HUGE hesitation when i hit the gas pedal then takes off like i have vtec (which i don't have).

so i broke out the timing light and looked. i found a blue harness on the right of the pass foot well with two wires (one brown and one ???) and jumped it. the dizzy is pushed all the way advanced but the red mark (middle mark of the three timing marks) isn't even close. its about 15-20 (prob an inch or so from being lined up right) degrees off. i double checked the cam timing and everything there looks good. i am about ready to just put the cam timing back to the red mark and call it a day.

thanks for any help, i searched but couldn't find any info regarding the stock d16a6.

you want 16 for OEM Spec.

when you changed cam timing you problably mis aligned it or it moved slightly before u tightened everything up.

i'd have to guess its right around 10ish. Until the rpms climb up then it moves over and the car picks up.

i've rechecked the cam timing and it all 'looks' like its right. I'll take a pic of the cam position tonight just to get an opinion.
