Default gsr swap info

so i bought a 2001 gsr swap other day. which im going to convert to OBD1. my current swap is a z6/b7 with a rywire mpfi obd0-obd1 jumper.

my question is when i attempt the swap do i need to find a gsr wiring harness? or do i use my original obd0 harness?

this is the first swap ive done fully myself so im little confused

You will simply be taking your engine haress off the D16Z6 and using it on the GSR motor.

Most jumper harnesses include all the wires necessary to convert to use any OBD1 motor.
I would assume the RWire jumper you have them as well so you can hook up to the extra sensors found on the GSR -IAB and knock sensor.

The OBD1 jumper harness will have wires for the IAB, vtec, heated O2 sensor, knock sensor, and whatever else your GSR engine requires.

What engine is currently in your car?
z6/b7 mini me.

You need a jumper for your ECU, you potentially need a vtec sub harness. The OBD0 to OBD1 jumper for the distributor is also very helpful as well. If you have the old wiring harness you can swap out the other plugs. The alternator I wired myself.

Use the injectors off the D16 and then you don't have to worry about the resistor pack.

I'm pretty sure everything will be plug and play as long as you have the right motor mounts. Should drop in just as easy as the D-series comes out.

What ecu are you using? Unless you use the P72 ECU you won't need the IAB wiring. What ecu are you using?

If you run an intake manifold without IAB then you should be fine with the P28. Tuning would be best, but will drive your cost up over the price of a P72 unless you can tune.

The P28 can also be modified to support IAB control so you can then run the P72 map and you would never know the difference.

I have personally added this of kit to a P28 ECU for OBD2 IAB control and it worked fine.
