Correct me if I'm wrong. You have to change or distributor, injectors, and you won't have a plug for the crank angle sensors. You can get an adapter for the distributor because that's what I'm running on my obd1 gsr with a obd2 ditributor and you can use ur sohc vtec injectors. Don't quote me though

Get an OBD2B GS-R engine harness, thats it. you wont have to swap connectors or repin anything so long as your using a chipped P28.

your situation isn't quite the same. The OP has an Si so it was already wired for vtec. If you use a GS-R harness the engine side will be wired for vtec, but from the shock tower plug back to the ECU you wont have vtec wiring run, Unless your car is a '92, any model all other years you will have to run vtec. knock sensor and IABs don't have to be wired in, in either your case or the OPs because neither of you is using an ECU that supports either.

ok new plans have ***, i now have a high compression b20 block so no need for the knock sensor and a couple other things, a couple other people told me to use obd1 distributor and injectors and i should be fine, cuz i have all the parts already, just need to make sure

I am running a 92 DX hatch, and I have a 1997 GS-R out of an ek civic, cant I just the engine harness from the ek and use a obd2-obd1 jumper harness to run a p28. That way I don't have to run any extra wires. Wont that work?

It doesn't connect at the shock towers like the EG harness does. So "NO" is the correct answer. A quick look at your engine bay and the EK engine harness should have clued you in to this issue and you wouldn't have had to ask "Why". How much automotive mechanical and electrical experience do you have ?
