Default Cluster swap, dimmer switch and rear defog wiring

Hey, I've done this swap before, putting a 90-91 cluster in an 88-89. (Well, the reverse of that...)

I am unsure of how to do the dimmer switch and rear defog switch.
I was searching for the pinouts, but I couldn't find any.
Could anyone lend me a helping hand pretty please?

yes i could use this info too! my car has a 91 cluster in it but was half a$$ed. i have the switch for the new style but not hooked up. ive been looking around aswell and ive come up with nothing other than there different. as far as dimmer mine lights up with the light switch but thats it i cant dimm/brighten it so id like to see whats up with that

annny info would be greatly appreciated it really sucks with no rear defrost especially with the weather we've been having around here lately

if I remember correctly the plugs are different on the 90-91 compared to the 88-89 for the defog and hazards

yes. the plugs would have to be de-pinned and re-pinned with the newer style plugs.
i can't find a diagram with the info i need for it though.

I know for fact someone has done this.
You wouldn't half-*** things.
Many people need this info, and it is NOT in the faq.

I've downloaded a shop manual, but I can't understand wiring diagrams... it's not my finesse. So it's still not helping me out...

Another bump.
Fawk, I know so many of you have done this. So someone HAS the info.
Stop being greedy.

match the wire colors they are all them same I just did this last week. You will have to add the light wires for the hazard other wise its all the same

Hazard light is not important, I'll put a foglight switch there eventually. Hazard is on my column. Dimmer switch is still wrong though. The wires seem completely different. I disassembled the 88-89 switch, and am thinking of just soldering on my rolling switch where the rotating switch is, on the 88-89 circuit board. I just can't find any information supporting doing this.

defog works also.

It might not help or be the same but wen i did my 95' Ls teg swap into my 90' dx hatch i tried to use sum of the pinouts i fpund on the net. To my surprise i would pull the e-brake n the turn signal would light up. Lol! I ended doing one wire at a time iregardless of color. Now everything thats supposed work does. Jus grab a power probe. N go one wire at a time. I kno easier said than done. I ended up with a couple blown fuses but i got it to work. Lol!
