Car just clicks rapidly
The car wont turn over it just clicks rapidly when you turn the key. You can pop start it and it runs fine. We checked the battery, starter, and not quite sure what else to check or what it might be.
the car is a 91 Civic DX with a 91 B18A in it.

Re: Car just clicks rapidly (slowboy)
Alternator is bad, therefor not charging the battery when you pop start it so that is why it clicks when you try and start it with the key... ;]

Re: Car just clicks rapidly (slowboy)
It is your battery! You need to test the voltage of your battery while it is under load while you are trying to start the car. Most likely the voltage is dropping down to 9 1/2 volts on the battery when you are trying to start the car which is not enough to turn the car over so your starter just clicks. If you test the battery while it is "NOT" under load it will probably read 12v-12.5v maybe a little less.

After you get it started, drive it down to Autozone. LEAVE IT RUNNING and have them run a test. They will check the alt. and battery free!! I love Autozone
