Back in the game!
Hey guys and gals. I am new to the forum. But I am not new to the civics. This is officially my 4th EF civic that I have owned since having my lisence. (91 Dx, 91 Si, 89 Dx) And now finally an 89 Dx. What makes this car so special(to me anyways) is the fact that it has 79,000 original kms on it. It has no Major rust (I live in eastern canada this is unheard of!) And I got it for 300$!! It sat for 3 years, but it started right up. Now I will be giving it new life. I just got it home yesterday so today after work. Pics will be up and a slow mini resto will be in session. Wish me luck guys!!

Re: Back in the game!
Alright so yesterday after work I got straight to work on the car. I gave it a nice oil change along with a new altenator. Now it will actually stay running.
Anyways this is what I have.
Bone stock 89 civic hatch dx, It has a 91 front bumer with a 99 jetta lip (Done by me), The passenger side molding is off a 91, so I will be looking for that soon. It runs and drives fine.. brakes need some work.
I also got a steal. 4 konis, set of coilovers, and about 3 sets of lowering springs. all for about 100
I do need help putting the coilovers together.. They came all disassembled. a diagram of what part goes where would help.
The plan for this car is a clean stock look with a twist. I will update as i go.

Re: Back in the game!
civicpei, is it you that messaged me about the cr-x dash on kijiji in NB? Must be you, nice Civic you've picked up there, and I can't believe something like that would be kicking around in the maritimes!

Ahh it totally is haha. This civic and I go way back. I tried to buy it two or three years ago. Guy wanted to much. but finally he gave in. An older lady owned it for most of its time, and you can tell.

That's an awesome deal, glad you were able to get it I don't think anybody would've ever passed that up!
Just goes to show there are still a few good ones hiding around, I've seen a few pop throughout the years. Good luck with the car, should be fairly easy to fix up considering the condition of it.

Re: Back in the game!
Im undecided on the auto to manual swap. I have all the parts needed to do it (parts car) But having an auto might be good for a change.
Plus my girlfriend wants to drive the car, and I figure she can't burn a clutch out with an automatic, right?? haha jk jk.
