B16 turbo discussion
Swapped a B16 into my 90 CRX, I want to go turbo. I have seen where people have moved their radiator because the intercooler blocks air to it and causes overheating. Anyone in this situation, or do I just need a good radiator?

Re: B16 turbo discussion (CRX_1.8T)
I visited a shop a while back and they happened to be putting a turbo onto a b16 swapped crx while I was there. They turned the radiator diagonally and moved it to the side a little, then they put the intercooler next to it and turned it the opposite direction.

The intercooler usually mounts behind the bumper ..not in the engine bay..
If they put the radiator diagonly how would the hood shut..??

Thats stupid..
Please dont do that..
Just leave the radiator as is and mount the intercooler behind the bumper..
If u dont think there is enough space between the turbo and radiator then get a Half-radiator from a 92-95 /civic(cheap) or from exospeed (expensive)..
And if ur worried about overheating(very unlikely)..Just wire the fans so they're always on..

Dude i dont know what shop you went to and saw that but please dont take your car to them......Get the 92-95 half radiator like said above and mount that into your car now there is plenty of room for the turbo to fit nice and throw a front mount in your bumper none of this angling bullshit

Absolutely, and get a JimFab front Crossmember, If you talk to Jim i believe he will add brackets for you, just specify where, dimensions and he'll help ya out, awsome guy. I think he may even sell a X-member with mounts for a certain IC. checkout his website, i'm lazy 92-95 half radiator

Yeah...Unless you have a tiny turbo like a t25 or t3....

Re: B16 turbo discussion (b16sellout)
Get the half radiator jackass
Don't try to squeeze it in there, get the right parts.
And you had it backwards, the turbo doesnt get in the way of the radiator. the radiator gets in the way of the Turbo turbo is more important lol

Re: B16 turbo discussion (Mrspeaker)
you need to do alot more research before you even attempt this. I understand your need for speed but do yourself a favor, unless your Richy Rich don't just drop the first turbo you see in your ride without taking the proper percautions. Do the math, build the motor to handle the power step one. get the Proper info on the right parts step two. get the 411 on PROPER installation step three, than put it in with someone who ha s the juice "ie knowledge" to help you through it. if you do this you will succeed.if not we will all wave while the wrecker tows your blown motor and new turbo to the shop to be fixed or parted out whichever is more cost effective. by the way this is not a flame just a friendly bit of advice from a guy with more time than money so don't take this the wrong way.
