Default 2.5" collector modifications.

I have b swap in my 88 crx, i just installed a 4-1 header with a 2.5" collector.

My question is, the one before was 2.25" or 2" it was smaller, anyways there was a little soft metal ring that went between the cat and the collector, i guess that was the sealer part of it so that if could still move around a bit.

Anyways what do i have to do to my cat? Do i just weld on the same piece that is on there but in 2.5" and find myself a 2.5" inch little metal ring.

Its 2.25" exhaust on the car.

Those of you who are running headers with 2.5" collectors what was required as far as getting it to hook to the cat.

Thanks

Go to http://www.hybridgarage.com, go to store and they make them to order $119 shipped, measure and tell then the length.

Once I get my damned wiring sorted out and figure out if I can mod the header to work with a PR3 and get it to read right I will buiy one from them.

Most any muffler shop can make you a coupling to fit the larger size collecter and be able to weld it to your cat. They should also have the sealing ring you need. If not check your local honda dealer and get one for the S2000, but bring your wallet. Is your cat stock or is it 2.25" also?

yes but if his cat has over 100,000 miles he's better off spending the few extra bucks for a fresh one.

I would do that except than she wouldnt pass emissions.

I checked out that cat from that place man.

Thanks for the link, im in desperate need of a new cat anyways and that one seems to be a good high flower and atleast i wont have to do any exhaust welding.

It needs to stay out of the muffler shop since it isnt on the road.

Thanks

I have a 2.5" collector, and it fit to my cat fine. Now I think I'm going to go measure it, it was advertised as 2.5" anyway.

Oh yeah and my car is on the road.

I just have it parked for the winter to do some work. I could throw on some insurance and take it out... sorta
