Default 1990 honda civic dx

i have a 1990 honda civic dx 1.5 L i dont have a tach in the car yet but it is a 5 speed and if i rev the engine up speeding up quick the engine will cut back and check engine light comes on. The car will cut back kinda at time when its reved up today it cut back at 70mph in 4th gear. I have to cut the car off and cut it back and the car will run normal again. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? thanks

you should check your ECU, which located under the floor mat on the passenger side, against the firewall.

turn the key on, if the cel light is on count the number of times the ecu blinks. it will repeat itself so when there is a short pause in between blinks, there might be a second code so count it a couple times.

It is showing a code 4 for the crank position sensor. Does that mean the sensor is bad?

I tried ordering this part from Honda and they said they don't see it seperate that they think it's part of my distributor. Is that correct? Do I just change out the distributor?
