***Stumble/Bucking issue 89 Civic Hatchback***
Currently trying to help fix a car.
The car stumbles HARD above about an 1/8 throttle. Stumbles and dies if you're not on the ball. Starts and idles fine. Seems like anytime the car is put under load it just doesn't want to comply.
Took to a shop and had several parts replaced. The biggest thing I can offer up is the fuel pump hasn't been replaced and doesn't have a steady run cycle when the key is turned on. Checked to see if the fuel pump turns on when the key is turned on and instead of getting a steady hum for a few seconds it surges. Ignition system has all been replaced as well as the ecu, TPS, MAP sensor, IACV, fuel filter (help settle the car down).
Able to get the car to somewhat comply with pumping the throttle as it bogs down. Seems like a wiring issue or pump issue with the pump making irregular sound when the ignition comes on. The mechanic just threw parts at it without really diagnose the problem so just looking for test I can look into before buying more parts. They said the fuel pressure was 31 PSI so kinda in the dark.

The tachometer doesn't seem to display any issues. I drove the car for all of 3 minutes last night though. The shop she had her car at made no mention of it but they seemed to just be throwing parts at the car so I question how much diagnosing they did.

The fuel injectors have also been replaced which I feel I should add on the fuel pressure question.

replaced ignition switch?
try cleaning and see if you notice a difference.
DIY Ignition switch cleaning - Team Integra Forums - Team Integra
might want to double check tps calibration and mechanical and electrical timing.

Yeah we're leaning towards the pump as well. Just hasn't had an issue with starting or idling yet. Pain to drop a tank with possible rusted bolts when you aren't 100% sure that's what it is.
