Default Intermittent no spark issues DRIVING ME CRAZY

Im having one hell of a week. My CR-V started having intermittent no spark issues last week. Id be driving just fine, out of no where engine dies. Restart it, keep driving. Another day, engine dies out of no where, wont start for a minute, check the air filter, kinda dirty, but whatever, take it out, engine starts. Turn off the engine, put the filter back, engine starts... Drive it some more, dies while driving then starts again on its own (its standard). this issue keeps happening more and more often. day before yesterday im going to my buddys place to do some maintenance (cv boots, coolant flush, oil change, tranny fluids, ect), and it dies not even half way there. i **** with it for a bit, starts running, dies again just after ig et in the car. basically i hobbled it most of the way there, then it just wouldnt run anymore. i get him to give me a hand checking stuff out. he cranks while i check things. I checked compression (150, 145, 150 150), fuel pressure (46 vacuum disconnected), vacuum (22 lbs i think it was, which is good), pull out the plugs, they all look GREAT, ground out one plug, no spark. so i pull off the cap and rotor and they were both really worn out. So i change the cap and rotor. Runs great, i drive it to his place and do all of the maintenance. I go to leave his place, and it dies maybe 10 km away. !@#$%^&*(*&^%$#@#$%^&*(&^%$#@ I was doing fuel injector testing at school the other day and blew the pcm fuse and replaced it with a spare. I figured maybe the spare had a microfracture in it, so i replaced it with the AC fuse. Drove home no problem (about 40 minutes). I go out side today to go to school, stop for coffee on the way. get back in the cr-v, NO MOTHER ****ING SPARK. JESUS ****ING CHRIST. I pulled off the cap and the valve cover. Timing belt is in rough shape, but still there. Got a friend to crank it over. no teeth are misssing and the rotor turns with it. Does anyone have the pin out voltages for the dizzy? im at the point that im not sure what to check. Maybe ill try swapping the ecu with my spare. The biggest problem is its intermittent so i cant tell if fixed or not. Has anyone else had any issues like this? BTW i checked for check engine codes, pending or not, and theres none. 98, b20b, 5 speed, awd. FML.

when the no spark is occurring, check the blk/ylw tracer wire at the distributor. should be hot in run and while cranking.

I wasnt able to find that wire, until i took the dizzy apart to remove the coil. Im gonna try swapping it with the one from my spare b20. Ive had similar issues in the past where the coil was doing the same thing. im hoping thats it.

Lots of people are saying its the ignition control switch, but the symptoms for that is random dieing but you can restart it. Regardless i called the local honda and they said that my recall hasnt been completed yet and will replace the ignition control switch for free. Thats not until next thursday though, and i dont want to go a week without my V! I went through some diagnostic flow charts off shopkey but i couldnt figure it out. After a day of screwing around with it, i decided to refer back to the flow chart. It appears i read it incorrectly and according to the chart my ignition control module was shot. I swapped it out and now it'll idle for at least a half hour now. Before it would only idle for 5-10 minutes before shutting off. Now for a test ride....

a symptom of the ignition switch is when it dies, all dash lights/instrument cluster lights go out

Initially thats what everyone was saying, but the symptoms didnt match up. Eventually with some diagnostics i found it was actually the ignition control module inside the distributor.
